Our Dance GCSE Course started in 2005 and is open to all. Over 93% of our students have completed the course in Year 10, a year before their other GCSE’s. We have a 100% Pass Rate with over 200 students completing the course in the last nineteen years. We are proud that so many of our students have gained FULL MARKS in their Practical Units! Over 98% of our students have achieved A*/B (Grades 9-5) and we are the only school in the immediate area to offer this GCSE course! In 2020, 100% of our students achieved a Grade 8/6 (A*/B) – all the girls took the exam in Year 10. In 2021 our amazing students achieved Grades 9/5 after 27 weeks online, during Lockdowns. In 2022 our Year 10 students achieved 100% Pass rate (A/B grades) and 54% of the girls were awarded an A* (Grades 9/8). In 2023 and 2024, our students once again achieved 100% Pass Rate with 60% gaining an A*/A Grade.
Our GCSE students have enjoyed professional Workshops with Artists from the following companies: The Royal Ballet, Rambert Dance Co, James Cousins Dance, Luke Brown Dance Co, Stopgap Dance Co and Blue Boy Entertainment, plus Christopher Tendai, Holly Stubbings, Alex Sturman, Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, and Arts Pool.
