School Aims: NVSDD encourages the best in every student and helps them gain confidence, coordination, musicality and poise. Students experience the thrill of performance and the satisfaction of achieving goals in a fun and disciplined environment.
NVSDD opened in 1992 and now has over 1000 pupils. The school currently employs 22 Peripatetic teachers, plus 12 Assistants. All are insured, qualified and DBS checked. The school has raised over£30,000 for local and national charities. Former pupils of the school have gone on to study for Dance/Drama Degrees and also to full-time Vocational Conservatoires & Schools including RADA, LAMDA, E15, Webber Douglas Academy, Redroofs Theatre School, Arts Educational and Lee Strasbourg in New York. Natalie Shaw (nee Vinson) BA (Hons) Dance, RAD Teaching Certificate, AISTD, ALAM, RSA (Principal of NVSDD)
Natalie’s early training was with Miss Ruth French at the RAD, Miss Maria Fay at the London School of Contemporary Dance and the schools of Dame Merle Park and Mrs Bette Bayliss. From the age of 16 she trained full-time at Bush Davies School of Theatre Arts where she achieved her Major Examinations and teaching qualifications in Dance and Drama as well as A’Levels in English, Art with History of Art and Sociology. She went on to attain an Honours degree from Chichester University in Dance and Related Arts. Natalie opened NVSDD in 1992 and in that time the school has grown considerably providing classes after-school and on a Saturday. We have branches in Ascot, Bracknell, Warfield, Chertsey and Farnham and NVSDD/Envy Performing Arts is proud to offer bespoke, top quality Performing Arts tuition in prestigious Independent Schools in the area.
